When Broc Barton and DJ Brian B set out to create The Retreat, they weren’t interested in hosting another conference. They saw a gap in the wedding and event industry—an overwhelming amount of surface-level events, but nowhere for high-level professionals to connect, grow, and challenge themselves in a setting that fosters true transformation.
With decades of experience at the highest level of the industry, Broc and Brian have built empires—not by following trends, but by shaping them. One of the premier destination private event DJs, Brian B travels around the world DJing some of the most luxurious events. When he isn’t on a plane or behind the decks somewhere, he can be found giving back to the industry by speaking at various industry events, writing for various blogs and publications, leading his own crowd-sourced coaching group, or recording episodes of his 2 podcasts - Beyond The DJ Booth with Joe Bunn and his solo-cast,, The Travel DJ Blend. After living in the Big Apple for the 11 years, Brian moved in April 2022 to Raleigh, NC with his wife, Tara, their daughter, Annie, and teacup morkie, Tucker.

We chose Medellín—the City of Eternal Spring—because it perfectly mirrors the state of mind of a leader ready to ascend. Known globally for its resilience, art, and relentless innovation, Medellín offers a high-level flow that balances vibrant energy with sophisticated ease.

The retreat includes a variety of activities such as morning wellness sessions (e.g., meditations and fitness), powerful personal and professional development education, creative workshops, group discussions to engage deeper, and unique cultural excursions and incredible restaurants. These are designed to nurture both personal and professional growth, artistic realignment, and inspiration to the next level of your career.

A typical day might start with morning meditation, followed by an intensive education session or two, then a group discussion or one-on-ones, then an excursion in the afternoon, and end with an evening activity or free time. The schedule is balanced to allow for both structured activities and personal exploration.

Villa Experience guests stay onsite in private bedrooms at the main architectural sanctuary. Casa Experience guests stay at a nearby property just minutes away with all transportation managed by our team. Offsite attendees stay at a hotel or Airbnb of their choice in Medellín and join the group daily for all sessions and shared meals.

For VIPs and Casa guests: Yes, all meals are included and catered to provide generally healthy, mostly locally-sourced options. Special dietary needs can be accommodated with advance notice.
For off-site attendees: Breakfast is not included, but all lunches, dinners, and snacks are.

Yes, a $750.00 deposit is required to reserve your spot.

The primary airport is José María Córdova International Airport (MDE). From there, airport transportation is arranged to take you directly to the main Villa or the Casa.

For VIPs, yes. Off-site attendees will need to arrange their own transfers. We recommend renting a car or getting an Uber.

Cancellations made more than 60 days before the retreat will receive a full refund minus a $100 processing fee. Cancellations between 30-60 days will receive a 50% refund. No refunds for cancellations within 30 days of the retreat.
